The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 3 to 20 cm. The color
of its cap is very variable - light-brownish, gray-brown, auburn. Spore powder
is olive brown. This mushroom is very common in Latvia's
forests. It grows under birches and in mixed forests from late May to
November.
Edible
and rather tasty when fried, dried or pickled. Young specimens are almost as
valuable as Ceps (Boletus edulis).
Ļoti garšīga.
