The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 5 to 20 cm. Spore powder
is ochre-brown. The mushroom has white scales on the stalk, and its cap sometimes has pink tinge. It grows in mixed forests from August to October.
(I have found it under
spruce and pine in quite a damp place.) It is rare in
Latvia. This mushroom is edible
and tasty. One can fry it without boiling just like many edible boletes.
Cepama bez iepriekšējas
novārīšanas, marinējama, kaltējama, tomēr to labāk nevajadzētu vākt, jo ir
reta.
