Lactarius pubescens
Bālais vilnītis

Parastā alksnene

Lactarius scrobiculatus
Dzeltenā krimilde

English name: Rufous Milkcap
Deutsche Name: Rotbrauner Milchling

The diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 3 to 12 cm. Spore powder is pale cream-colored, with pinkish tinge. It has no rings on its cap, but has a small knoll. This mushroom is very common in Latvia. It grows in large quantities in coniferous forests: on the edges of bogs or even in very dry, sandy soil from June to November. Edible, but has to be boiled first. Do not confuse it with Lactarius helvus!

Alksnenes gandrīz vienmēr aug uz zemes (pa kreisi), tomēr paretam kādai gadās izaugt stumbra plaisā, kurā uzkrājies pietiekami augsnes (pa labi).
Rufous Milkcap almost always grows on the ground. However, in rare cases it manages to develop in a soil-filled split of a trunk (right).

Alksnenes bieži aug diezgan ciešās grupās, dažkārt pat daļēji pārklājot viena otru, bet vēl biežāk - izkliedus grupās (sk. ceturto lappusi).
Rufous Milkcaps often grow in rather dense groups, where even overlaps each other, and even more often - in large scattered groups.
