The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 3 to 12 cm. Spore powder is pale cream-colored, with pinkish tinge.
It has no rings on its cap, but a small knoll. This mushroom is very common in Latvia.
It grows in large quantities in coniferous forests: on the edges of bogs or even in very dry, sandy soil
from June to November. Edible, but has to be boiled first. Do not confuse it with Lactarius helvus!
Ēdama,
jānovāra 25 minūtes un ūdens jāizlej. Pēc vārīšanas jāmērcē pāris dienas sālsūdenī.
Laba sēne sālīšanai un marinēšanai. Nesajaukt ar sarkandzeltaini, kurai ir
īpatnējs aromāts, līdzīgs kumarīnam vai zaļajiem sieriņiem!
