The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 6 to 20 cm. Spore powder is dark olive-brown.
Its stalk is covered with a distinctive net-like pattern. It grows in
deciduous and mixed forests, and in parks under oaks from June to October. It is
rare in Latvia. It is very
tasty when fried in butter, and it is very delicious in soups. One can also dry, pickle and
salt this mushroom.
