Piparu rubīnbeka

Syn.: Suillus piperatus; Boletus piperatus
Citi latviskie nosaukumi: Piparu sviestbeka, Piparbeka
English name: Peppery Bolete
Deutsche Name: Pfeffer-Röhrling

The diameter of its cap usually does not exceed 8 cm. Spore powder is rusty-brown or brown. It grows in small groups in coniferous forests, especially under pine trees, along grassy forest tracks and in bushes from July to October. It is common in Latvia. It is inedible in large quantities because of its hot taste, but one can dry it and use it as a spice, adding a small amount to some dishes.

Nav ēdama lielos daudzumos sīvās garšas dēļ, taču mazos daudzumos sažāvētu un saberztu pulverī var lietot kā garšvielu piparu vietā pie dažādu veidu ēdieniem.
