Priežu baravika

Syn.: Boletus pinicola
English name: Pine Bolete
Deutsche Name: Kiefern-Steinpilz

The diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 5 to 30 cm. Spore powder is olive. Its cap and stalk are more reddish than those of the other forms of Boletus edulis. It usually grows under pines on sandy soil from June to October. It is common in Latvia. It is the one of the best edible mushrooms in this country and often can be found in large quantities. It is very tasty when fried in butter, or in soups. One can also dry, pickle and salt this mushroom.
