This polypore is from 5 to 60 cm wide and from 0.5 to 5 cm thick. Spore powder is white. Usually it grows into very large clusters. It grows on dead and living deciduous trees along rivers, in cemeteries and in parks almost year-round. Young specimens are edible after boiling; not tasty.

Bieži sastopama piepe. Kamēr jauna, ir ēdama, tomēr jānovāra. Nav garšīga.
