This
mushroom can be as wide as 30 cm in diameter. Spore powder is ochre brown,
clay brown. It grows
individually or
in small groups on pine and spruce stumps from July to October. The specific feature of
this
Paxillus mushroom is that it has a short, lateral or eccentric, dark velvet-like
stipe. It is common in
Latvia. Nowadays regarded as poisonous.
