The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 3 to 12 cm.
Spore powder is white or creamy. It grows usually in rich clusters on
stumps, roots and live trunks of coniferous trees. Its
growing season is from September to December. It is very common in
Latvia. It is edible only when cooked properly, fresh is poisonous. Stalks are hard and should be discarded. Some people may
suffer digestive upsets
from this mushroom.
