The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 4 to 25 cm. Spore powder
is white. This mushroom's main feature is that when flesh is bruised or riddled
by insect larvae, it becomes dirty pink. It grows in mixed and pine forests from June to
November. It is very common in Latvia. This mushroom is edible when boiled,
but one should be very careful: it looks quite similar to Amanita pantherina (Panther
Cap),
which is extremely poisonous!
Ēdama
sēne,
iepriekš jānovāra un ūdens jāizlej. Tomēr ar šīs sēnes vākšanu jābūt
visai piesardzīgiem, jo to viegli var sajaukt ar ļoti indīgo panteru mušmiri. Šī sēne diezgan bieži ir tārpu
izalota.
