The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 5 to 15 cm. Gills are
free and bright white. Do not confuse it with green-coloured Russules,
that have no ring on the stalk, and with Agaricus spp. which have
dark-colored gills. Flesh
is white, it smells like honey and tastes like nuts. Spore powder is white.
It grows in small groups in
deciduous and mixed forests, in parks mostly under oaks on nutrient-rich soils from July to October. It is
common in Latvia. Deadly poisonous! In fact,
it is the deadliest mushroom in Latvia's forests.
termiska vai savādāka šīs sēnes apstrāde nepadarīs to ēdamu!
