The diameter of its cap usually does not exceed 10 cm. Its stipe is very porous and lightweight. Spore powder is creamy-colored. It grows in groups on moss under spruce from July to October. It is quite rare in Latvia. It has unpleasant taste and smell. Inedible.

Samērā reti sastopama bērzlape. Neēdama nepatīkamās garšas un smakas dēļ.
