The
diameter of this fungus' cluster usually varies from 5 to 15 cm.
It
can reach up to 12 cm in height. Spore powder
is yellow-ochre. It grows in coniferous or deciduous forests from August to October.
Young specimens are edible after boiling and discarding the water. This fungus is very rare and has been included in the Red Data Book of
Latvia. One of the growth sites near the town of Baldone has been found by the
team of this website.
Caution: other yellow Ramaria fungi, some of them poisonous, can be
easily mistaken for this fungus!
