The fruitbody is up to 8 cm high and up to 4 cm wide. Spore powder
is white. It grows in deciduous and mixed forests from summer months to October.
Edible after boiling. It is very rare and is included in Red Data Book of Latvia.
Two growth sites have been found by the team of
this website, both inside Tervete Nature Park. One site is
particularly rich, sometimes - up to hundreds of fruiting bodies at a
time (2008)!
Ēdama askusēne, kas pirms cepšanas
jānovāra. Ļoti reta, ierakstīta Latvijas Sarkanajā grāmatā, kā
arī Aizsargājamo sugu sarakstā (tāpēc pareizāk tomēr būtu to nevākt ēšanai).
Divas atradnes ir uzgājuši šīs vietnes veidotāji, abas - Tērvetes
dabas parkā. Viena no tām dažkārt ir īpaši ražīga - līdz pat
simtiem augļķermeņu vienlaicīgi (2008)!
