The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 5 to 30 cm. Spore powder
is ochre-brown. This mushroom is one of the
finest fungi in Latvia's forests. It symbioses (makes mycorrhiza) with aspens
and grows from June to October. It is common in Latvia. Edible and tasty. One can
fry it without boiling, or dry, pickle and salt.

bez iepriekšējas novārīšanas, kaltējama, marinējama, sālāma vai skābāma.
Apstrādājot mīkstums paliek pelēks, bet tas neiespaido garšu. Lai mīkstums
nebūtu tik tumšs, var pievienot marinādei citronskābi.
