The
diameter of this fungus can reach up to about 70 cm in Latvia. This is one of the largest fungi in this country. Spore powder is
dark brown. When young, this fungus has white flesh and surface. As it becomes older, it produces brown spores inside it.
This fungus prefers nutrient-rich soils. Usually it grows in grass in open
places (parks and gardens, for example) from August to October. It is quite common in Latvia.
Edible when fried, and tasty when young and white.
