The stalk of this fungus can be as tall as 15 cm, and its cap can as wide as a dinner plate (not in this country, however).
It grows on stumps, mostly deciduous, from July to September. Spore powder is red-brown. Inedible.
This fungus is very rare and on Latvia's official Endangered Species List.
The team of this website has found the species at two new localities,
one of which was observed to fruit intensely for several years.
Viengadīga piepe, kura aug lielākoties uz lapu koku celmiem. Kāta augstums dažkārt sasniedz 15 cm,
bet cepurīte šķīvja lielumu (taču ne šeit Latvijā). Ļoti reta suga, iekļauta
Aizsargājamo sugu sarakstā. Neēdama.
Populāra Austrumu medicīnā.
