This bracket fungus can be as wide as 50 cm. Spore powder is white or light lemon-yellow. One can find this gray-white fungus growing on rotting birch, in almost every forest and park of Latvia all year round. Inedible. In ancient times the specially prepared trama of this fungus has been used as a tinder, since it easily starts burning from sparks.
