Its fruitbody is from 3 to 10 cm high and up to 4 cm wide. Spore powder is white. It grows on decayed coniferous wood in wet places, also in grasslands and in waste-lands. Inedible fungus. It is generally very rare and included in Red Data Book of Latvia. However, in exceptionally favorable conditions and particularly suitable places it can pop up in immense numbers - even thousands in just a small area!
