Its fruiting body is up to 20 cm high. Spore powder is ochre-yellow. It grows in rich soils in gardens and deciduous forests during April to May. Very similar to Ptychverpa bohemica. It is rather rare in Latvia. Inedible due to its unpleasant taste.
