The
diameter of this mushroom usually varies from 5 to 30 cm.
Spore powder is ochre-brown. It usually grows under birches and
spruce in dry and damp places from June to October. It is very common in Latvia.
Edible when fried without boiling and dried or pickled with white vinegar.
